Hi,
I would like to make a comparision between my encode for a Iphone and the one on YouTube available on the device.
I think they're using h264 too but I'm not too sure of the bitrate.
I tried a test at 220 kbps using x264 and basically a Baseline profile and it seems youtube looks better, probably they're over 300 kps?

What kind of settings would you use for a video that has to be streamed to a mobile. I know for the Iphone, using the player integrated, only the Baseline profile is available.

thanks for any idea
bye

Youtube is ~500kbps for H.264.

thanks,
that confirms my impression.
But I expected a lower bitrate on the mobile, considering the low bandwidth available.

the video that YouTube provides on the iPhone is connection dependent
on 3G/EDGE you get an insanely blocky, probably 200 kbps if you're lucky "mobile" version
if you're on WiFi you'll get the full quality that they have on the site (I assume ~500 kbps like d_s says)
