Hi!

Just came home from my holidays in Spain, where I took a buch of videos with my Panasonic Lumix camera. The camera stores the videos in .mov format, however I want to split up some of them, as some of the videos are excessively long. What is the best program for doing this without any notable loss of quality? Tried a few freeware programs, but the endresult was some pretty choppy looking clips. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quicktime will do it with no loss of quality, but the "PRO" version isn't free.

You can try mpegstream clip with quicktime alternative (use the older 1.81 version - read the author's webpage for instructions)

It's unnecessary for edit QuickTime files (.mov, .m4v, ...) - just QT or QTA or QT Lite required.

('Older 1.81' - it's other reason, MPEG-2 editing - it require payable MPEG-2 component for QT).

Other...
If it's MJPEG or DV video and uncompressed audio, can change container to AVI.
