Rejoining 2 or 3 parts movies CDs for HD viewing

Hi, is there a way to perfectly rejoin the movie from my backup CDs, so I can play the movies on my harddrive seamlessly?

This question can refer to DivX4 and SVCDs I have made.

Any advice welcomed.

Convert the SVCDs to their constituent MPEG2 files (a tool to do that is CDMage, available here), then use a software DVD player like PowerDVD and queue the files. PowerDVD can also play/queue AVI files, but the AR will get screwed when you go full-screen. I'd use Windows Media Player and use an ASX list file for AVIs. I assume other players will also have queuing capabilities.

For DivX you can use VirtualDub and its "Append AVI segment" command to join the files. Make sure you set Video and Audio to "Direct stream copy".

Can you use the same procedures, using VirtualDub, to rejoin Divx movies with AC3 sound?

no.. there it must be nandub.. virtualdub does not support ac3 files after all

i had great problems using nandub for joining divx/ac3 files, there was no sound at all in the second part.
the latest virtualdub worked fine. if the ac3 is already in the file virtualdub can work with it.
