How to make AVCHD disc from HD Divx AVI to play on my BluRay plyr?

All,

I am new to this whole AVCHD thing and cannot seem to find any tutorial or info. on the following -

How to make a AVCHD disc from some HD AVI files I have downloaded (they are all either Xvid or Divx) so that I can view my HD content with minimal loss rather than downconverting the HD content to DVD format.

I want to create these AVCHD discs on DVD-R/+R and playback on my BluRay player (Sony S350).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
