Funny, RipIt4Me is fine on Season 4 Disk 1 and 2 but for some reason didn't work on Disks 3 & 4. It keeps telling me to clean the discs.
Does anyone know why and how to fix that?
Thanks,

Hi!
1) This wouldn't be the first time a newer copy protection was put on only one or some of a multiple disc set. The same thing was done with a "Seinfeld" DVD set a few years ago.
2) In light of the fact that "Grey's Anatomy" DVD is a Disney/Buena Vista release, it's possible that they've used a new, third iteration of "RipGuard" copy protection. I'd suggest that you try using (freeware) DVDFab HD Decrypter (It handles standard DVDs as well as HD).
3) There's always the possibility that you simply have to clean the discs ;>}

Hi, I tried DVDFab this weekend and I think that did the trick. Thanks; I appreciate your help.

You may have bits missing as DVDFab ignores the errors.

It's likely that Grey's Anatomy S4 (Buena Vista) has a newer protection on it. Eli Stone S1 (ABC) and Desperate Housewives S4 (Buena Vista) definitely have an updated protection. Grey's Anatomy is advertised on the Eli Stone release. With both Desperate Housewives and Eli Stone on Disc 1 a problem occurs right after the ad for Lost on DVD. It's different on the other discs in the set since they don't have the trailers on them but it still happens right before you get to the menus and occurs around where you see the FBI warnings. Nonetheless, I'd be willing to bet this is the same new or updated structural protection.

Hi cpchowsf,
I'm glad to hear DVDFab works for you.
FYI, DVDFab will not ignore reading error silently, it will ask you what to do when there is a reading problem.
Best Regards,

Hi Fengtao,
I haven't actually tried the backup disk yet but at least it seems to have copied nicely without any noticeable hiccups! ;-)
...thanks again!

This used to happen in version 2, I think, but from version 3 this was amended. DVDFD is now at version 5 point something.
