Hi peoples!

I have noticed that If you don't use BD-J (like me because I just don't know how to java ;)
you are stuck with the regular popup animation editor in HDMV. This thing is not frame accurate, and actually uses
4 frames per animation step, which makes popup animations either really chunky, or just too long to wait for
if you want popups to slide in smoothly.

I was wondering if any of you could give me some tips, on how many steps you usually use
so the popup menu will be fast and not too chunky. (like how and where to place the pngs etc.)

Thanks

4 frames seems to be the minimum per frame unless you manually crop the size of the asset in each frame of the animation.

If you select an individual frame in the In/OutEffect timeline you'll notice that you're able to change the size of the "active" area used by the png.

By default each frame of the animation is using the entire screen area, even if you're only animating a 100px sq png Scenarist still assumes your png occupies the whole work area.

So if your animation is only on a small section of the screen, then in each frame you'll be able to drag the box to fit the size of your png. Once you've done that you should be able to change the number of frames per png.

It is a clunky process but I've found it to work.
