Dup's use with live movies rather than anime?

I'm trying to clean up some captures the were encoded to Xvid and find that scenes with walls seem to have fluctuating pixels i suppose you'd call it,
I seem to have real success with FunkyDeblock,Dup filter and Temporalsoften smoothing away most of the blockiness in static scenes but i was wondering if there are any problems
with using dup's blend on live movies as all the searches iv'e done mentions Dup with anime,

Iv'e tried different variations of filters and strengths fftdfilter,Dfttest,HQdn3d,MipSmooth,DNR2,TTempsmooth fluxsmooth,and others but Dup's blend and Temporalsoften seems to show a vast improvement when i use AvsP to view output

Sure, you can use Dup on any video type. It doesn't have to be anime. Trust your eyes. :)
