I get this error from time to time using DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.28.2. The ripped DVDs that give me this error on the pro version process just fine in the free version however. Attached is the .ini file along with the log from a DVD that gave the error. On another thread it was suggested that this error has something to do with specific video files not being on an NTFS file system, and that moving the video files back and fourth solves the problem. This however hasn't worked for me and I'm curious as to why, if it is the file system, the free version handles these videos without problems. Please let me know what you think.

Does anyone know what might fix this or what the problem might be? Any idea Jdobbs?

....specific video files not being on an NTFS file system, and that moving the video files back and fourth solves the problem
What was actually observed was that a few random titles when ripped (ripper a non factor) to an Ext3 fs. resulted in above error.
Moving them or re ripping to an Ext2 or Ntfs fs allowed rb to work. The only effect of moving rip back to Ext3 was to put it back where it started, unable to open with above error message.

I see. The question then becomes what is it about the free version that allows these certain titles to process without issue?

@ Slimer5--What DVD is giving you this error on xp?

The freeware version is very old and is pretty much a completely different package than DVD-RB Pro.

I have no way of testing on a Linux box... and while I like the idea of DVD-RB on Linux -- I've made no promises that is is compatible with Linux or Wine. I'd have to not only worry about the program, but also how well Wine interfaces with it.

Whatever it is, it is very fundamental -- because it is bombing in one of the lowest level modules ("0000"). All that happens there is opening the DVD's files and allocating buffer space. The "0009" means a subscript is out of range for an array... it could be caused by almost anything (e.g. if the source is corrupt).

Thanks for taking the time to reply Jdobbs, and that is completely understandable.

For anyone who needs a way around this error on Linux simply make an NTFS partition, add the drive via winecfg, and run RB with the source being on the NTFS partition. Still, this method isn't 100%.

I think I've partially figured out what is causing this error on Linux. The culprit(s) seems to be certain audio chapters. For example, I just tried backing up the movie "The Holiday," but it spat the above error out at me. However, when I deleted (or disabled) all but the first english language from the DVD (prior to running it through RB-Pro) it processed just fine. If you have any ideas of how to further narrow down where the problem is let me know--also of course let me know if you have a possible solution.

I'll take a look at it.

I'm getting this error, too, and I was SO hoping to get rid of my Windows box...

Has anyone come up with a fix for this, aside from the NTFS partition and audio removal workarounds?

Edit: I should have noted that the error is only on some DVD's, others are fine. I seem to be batting about .500 since getting DVD-RB working on Linux.

I'm getting this error as well when using DVD-RB from within an virtual machine. I've setup vmware workstation with XP running on ubuntu 8.04. When i rip the disc and open it in DVD-RB from the linux filesystem it gives the 00009 error message. When i copy the ripped disc to my virtual machine DVD-RB has no problem in opening it.
