Hello to mikeytown2 et al.!

I am working on a free/open-source project (http://www.openfilmmaking.com/blenderavc/) to support AVC and HDV video in Blender's Video Sequence Editor (NLE). By using an AviSynth-compatible build of Blender, the video clips can be used without transcoding, thus avoiding the use of (much) additional disk space or quality reductions.

I am adding support for HDV and I need sample clips for testing purposes. They should be the raw, straight-from-the-camera files, 5 to 10 seconds long. I would like to have samples in 60i, 30p and 24p modes.

Thanks!
Rob

poisondeathray nice link! spamagnet I was looking for a m2t cutter (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=129155) but couldn't find one. Let me know if you need anymore files and I'll go film something for you, just didn't want to give you a 300mb file.

Have you tried loading Avisynth Virtual File System (http://www.turtlewar.org/avfs/) files into blender?

EDIT: TsRemux can cut m2t files

wow.. nice topic.. :))))...

'kay.. i've got my new Sony HDR-SR12 ... and i'm struggling with it right now... (that's okay) filming - is really powerfull, but editing and mixing - are really bad for me now.

if you need some 1920x1080@60i or 1440x1080@60i (with different bitrates) - let me know.. okay?

Thanks for the link! I haven't had a change to view the video yet. If all that video is 60i, I will still need some 30p and 24p.

No, I haven't. With Blender able to support AviSynth directly, I really haven't had a need for it. I can certainly see how it would be useful if you were running 32-bit AviSynth and 64-bit Blender.

... but editing and mixing - are really bad for me now.

What are you using to edit? Would you interested in beta-testing BlenderAVC (http://www.openfilmmaking.com/blenderavc/)?

Yes, actually, a few short clips (5-10 seconds) would be great. I have a Canon HF100, but it would be good to test against AVC clips from another brand of camera.

If you need an FTP site to upload to, send me an e-mail to rob at scott clan dot cc.

again, what parts of my City would you like to see in those "short-test-clips"?
