Problems with edit a menu [Problem with highlight color]

I want add a aditional button in sub-menu. In Sub menu, the language words (e.g. English, Spanish, ...) is highlighted.

I extract background (by PgcEdit) & subpicture (by subrip) and edit both for my lang I want to add sub-menu, then I make new menu by DVD-Lab Pro but when I select or active buttons, the language words aren't highlighted, rectangular frame is highlighted. What I do ?

I'd use DVDSubEdit to edit your subpic bitmap in place.

PS: Maybe Jeanl finds the time to add a function to PGCEdit for exporting the highlight picture and importing the modified background and highlight pictures back. (I'm only dreaming, I know)Assuming you mean DVDSubEdit, your dreams came true (and you no longer need to do very much at all)!

If you like to work with DVDLab, it still can be interesting.

But thanks to the great programers of this board (r0lZ, jeanl, jsoto, mpucoder to name a few), in the meantime some of my dreams indeed came true.

And yes, DVDSubEdit is the easiest way to modify a subpicture.

I know my problem but I don't know the solution.
The problem is that SubRip or DVDSubEdit don't extract SubPicture.bmp correctly, in adition, the SubPicture.bmp from SubRip is different with the one from DVDSubEdit. This problem cause that the color of buttons in Selected & Activated phase to be different with original menu.

So I need the tool for extracting SubPicture.bmp correctly.

It seems you interpret the meaning of the extracted subpicture wrong.
The extracted colors are only masks for the different parts of a subpicture (background, pattern, emphasis 1 and emphasis 2).
You have to assign the final color (and opacity) with DVDLab or PgcEdit to these masks.

The extracted mask-colors are not relevant, they only have to be different from each other. So it doesn't matter if the extracted subpicture colors from DVDSubEdit and SubRip are not the same. Unfortunately some authoring programs (e.g. DVDLab) need a fixed mapping. In the link above you can find the mask-colors expected by DVDLab.

But better follow blutach's advice and use DVDSubEdit. Extract the subpicture, modify it with the same colors and import it back. Then the Selected & Activated colors should stay the same.

When you extract the BMP with DVDSE, it will tell you if it needs to use autoclut (if more than one index uses the same colour). Otherwise, it'll use the original colours. In any event, just modify what you have (using MSPAINT or GIMP for example) and save the mod in place, answer yes when it asks you to save and then close the paint prog. DVDSE will import the new subpic into your DVD. When you are happy, save all mods and you're done.

I try with DVDSubEdit. The SubPicture has this colors: background=black text/button=white

I import pgc color & menu color from original menu.

This don't work same original menu, so change it to background=white text/button=black

The highlights become true but color of highlights not same original menu.

In adition, by changing color of background & text/button in SubPicture, color of highlights are changed. I don't know what change in SubPicture is suitable in order to the menu to be same original menu.

You need not change colours at all. Just leave them alone and author your subic using the colours DVDSE uses.
