View Full Version : Strange Video Problem

After ripping a given HD-DVD movie to a M2TS file via TsMuxeR and eac3to, playback will be interupted at random times by a screen full of "static" (sound is OK). This is cleared by stopping and restarting the movie. I am using Windows Vista Media Player and CoreAVC Pro for playback.
This does not happen with my ripped Blu-ray movies ripped and played back the same way.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi!
Perhaps too obvious a question but, do you know whether your commercial HD-DVD exhibits the same behavior? To help possibly determine whether there are known problems with this specific HD-DVD, may I ask the title of this problematic HD-DVD?

It does not appear to be specific to any one HD-DVD - I've observered the problem on both "The Chroniciles of Riddick" and "Forbidden Planet". I have other titles, but haven't sat through them yet - I would bet that the problem will show up on them too.
I don't have a standalone HD-DVD player just a ROM drive on my PC. I'll have to try playing the movie via PowerDVD and see if it occurs straight from the disk.
