Yes, I know the basic difference between VC-1 and WMV9 from "VC-1 and Windows Media Video 9 FAQ".
But I am not that clear for the difference between VC-1 AP (WVC1) and WMV9 AP (WMVA) except the 4cc.
Could anybody tell me the detailed difference for their Codec principle, supported features & other info? Where can I get the detailed infomation for the AP?
Thanks very much!

WMVA was based on a draft VC-1 proposal, and is not spec compliant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VC-1

Yes. I'd like to know the difference between WVC1(Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile) and WMVA (WMV Advanced Profile).
1. The profile/level of WVC1 and WMVA is samilar. Right?
2. WMVA is not compliant with WVC1. Some software decoder supports WVC1, but not WMVA. But I don't know the detailed difference. Are they different from the Codec arithmetic?
Thanks very much!

You could disassemble the decoders MS provide to see what the details are, but that'd probably go against the license...

vc-1 ap is the public standard, everyone can implement an encoder following that standard
wvc1 is an encoder written by m$ following the vc-1 ap standard
wmva is an encoder written by m$ NOT following the vc-1 ap standard. it should not be used anymore
