hi, yes that is my question.
Can anyone tell me what will happen if I encode my DVD-Rip with 0.217 at 2CDs?

Erm, well, i think you won't get as higher quality as you might otherwise.....
I think the bits/pixel*frame figure is just a very "loose" guide to what you should be setting the resolution at - to give you a guide for setting the res *before* you run a compression check. It's really the compression check that gives you a much better guide to setting the "right" res.
Ignore the bits/pixel*frame figure after the compression check and use the percentage in the box next to the load button - aim for 65-75%. If it's not in this range lower/raise the res until it is ( tho if you're at a high res already u may want the extra quality by being over 75% ) - and run a new compression check for your new res each time you change it to verify that gordian knot extrapolated the percentage correctly ( it doesn't always ).
