Right now I'm running Auto GK 2.40 (old i know), right now i'm looking at buying some new bits and given i do a fair bit of encoding using AutoGK I was wondering if it would be best to go for higher end Duo core or lower end Quad.

I'll have somewhere between £100-£200 to spend, having done a bit of reading here i believe i will have to update my version of AutoGK which is not a problem but just want some advice on the hardware side of things.

TIA

wrong forum.
I was in 2 minds if it should go in here or hardware forum but given most of my work was going to be done with AutoGK i thought in would have been best, ok i'll repost in hardware forum, if mod wants to delete post that's fine by me.

You should buy quad core 6600 (2.4GHZ). It can be easly overclocked to at least 3GHZ. (Tested in Prime95 MT -> stable like rock!)
