Does anyone know how to decrypt this bluray disc? I have tried Anydvd 6.4.6.0 and aacskeys - neither can do the job( First bluary out of 50+ that I've had a problem with). Thx for any help.

Thx for the reply - most promising result yet - running eac3to with anydvd enabled (disc in drive d) : "eac3to d:" gives me the file information:

1) 00000.mpls, 00000.m2ts, 1:39:08
- MPEG2, 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9)
- DTS Hi-Res, English, multi-channel, 48khz
- AC3, English, multi-channel, 48khz

(I've tried using ripbot264 and this gives shows me that 0000.mpls has a video length of "zero" seconds - so I guess vanilla eac3to is working.)

I've looked at the eac3to help file and tried several commands but cannot get the video and audio files extracted. If someone could help me with a command to either demux the video and audio streams or extract the 0000.m2ts file It would be much appreciated. Thx.

this will list the stream names and numbers...

then:
eac3to d: 1) 3: Video.mkv 5: audio.ac3

replace 3 and 5 with what ever values are suitable
for example:

In this example i would pick 3 and 5 as shown in the above command.

Once this is done i then mux with tsMuxR, or recode the video with mencoder outputting a raw h264 stream then mux the raw stream into a m2ts.

Thx for your help. Unfortunately there is still a decryption problem as "eac3to d: 1)" gives the message:
"The format of the source file could not be detected."
I Guess I'll have to wait until an update of anydvd or aacskeys.

Can you tell us the media key block version? If you don't know please mount the disc and open the aacs/MKB_RO.inf in a hex editor and post the first 12 bytes here.

Example: 10 00 00 0C 00 04 10 03 00 00 00 04
That is:
10 => Record Type
00 00 0C => Record Length
00 04 10 03 => MKBType
00 00 00 04 => Version Number

so that would be version 4.

That is version 7. Copy the following key into ProcessingDeviceKeysSimple.txt of aacskeys and post the output of aacskeys please.

After copying "7A5F8A09F833F7221BD41FA64C9C7933" into ProcessingDeviceKeysSimple.txt and entering "aacskeys d" via commandline I get the following:

aacskeys 0.3.0

ALL AGIDs in use

Error agid: sk: 0x2, asc: 0x30, ascq: 0x00, errnr: -2

Similar error when I try to run anydvd - :

"Failed to retrieve AGID!"

AGID = Authentication Grant Identifier. Up to 4 different players can authenticate simultaneously. In that authentication process both the drive and the software player verify each others identity. This step is required to read the volume id needed for decryption from the drive (unless you have patched your firmware).

Are you saying this happens only with this blue ray disc or did you have such problems before? Did you try to restart your system? Are you using the original vendor firmware?

Thx - yes this is the only bluray disc I have had trouble with. I have since decrypted other discs with no problem. (System restarted many times.) I have a Pioneer BDC 202 - 1.04 firmware ( installed and untouched since purchase). I have also tried making an enctyped untouched image with imageburn and mounting in Alcohol120 - With this I get exactly the same problem.

I have tried disabling both alcohol drive and bluray drive (with a virtual one mounted.) Same result so I don't think It's a problem with my drives - but a copy protection problem. I'm sure a future update will fix it sooner or later.

Now thats strange, that sense bytes mean "Incompatible Medium Installed". Uhh, does the drive think that disc isn't a Blu-Ray?? Or is the protection on the disc broken somehow? Can you playback that disc? Looks to me like the disc is defective.

I Don't think there is a problem with the disc - The movie plays fine in my PS3 and I managed to make an encrypted ISO with imageburn without any read errors. Although the title has been on bluray for a while it is new to region B so maybe it has newer copy protection on it??

Can you please post the COMPLETE logs? (right-click on the fox and select "create logfile" -> results in a ZIP file containing all required information).

EDIT: I'm guessing, you didn't feed the original disc to AnyDVD HD but rather an image - you can't get an AGID for an image.
AnyDVD HD can decrypt virtualized images as well but only if it already knows the disc.

Strange...

I had the same thought "Peer" had (image and no key in AnyDVD-HD or no internet connection/trail version).

But thinking about that... It's MKB-7 so the key "Oopho2ei" suggested for aacskeys should work ? (for aacs that is, not sure BD+ is on this disk).

I don't want to hijack this thread or go off topic but with the original disk and aacskeys (+ MKB-7 key) this should work (just like AnyDVD-HD) or am I wrong. :confused:

He needs more than the media key (which he gets from the media key block using the processing key i posted above). For the calculation of the volume uniq key (used for decryption) he needs both the media key AND the volume id. In his case the drive refuses to start the authentication process (for reasons unknown) so he currently can't get the volume id. If he knew that number he could decrypt the disc contents even from a mounted image. Btw. the volume id is no secret. After a successful completion of the authentication process it is transmitted in plaintext between drive and player and the only(?) purpose of this number is to prevent people from coping encrypted discs because it can't be copied easily. At least i don't know how and the specification claims you need special hardware equipment to do so. It certainly can't be done with cat /dev/sr0 > my_blue_ray_movie.iso ...

Well afaik the virtual machine of BD+ doesn't run on the drive and he is using the original firmware anyway. If his drive would have been revoked he wouldn't be able to playback any other disc from that point on. Also if he can't request a valid agid he can't use powerdvd/windvd etc either which are licensed players. I think it's probably a buggy firmware and he should check for an update. If you take a look at the disassembly of firmware and software players you will notice that they don't really follow the specification in every detail so some discs simply won't playback...

No still doesn't work with aacskeys - I have also updated the firmware on my pioneer bdc202 to 1.07 - same result.

I still think there is a fancy mastering error on that disc (or a problem with your drive) otherwise i can't explain that strange sense bytes after requesting an AGID. Latest Anydvd seems to have the VUK in its database so it isn't doing the aacsauth step to get the VID from the disc anymore. I'm pretty sure the PS3 is not an open platform drive and therefor doesn't need to do the aacsauth step to get the VID.

Can you playback the content with PowerDVD/WinDVD... without anydvd running? If you can we should be able to fix aacskeys.

I don't use powerDVD much - I use nero showtime - Just checked - only the decrypted conted plays in showtime (tried powerdvd as well). The original disc only works in my PS3. Maybe there is a problem with the disc???
