Streaming vids still in slo-mo

Personally speaking, as part of the broadband population, I'm supposed to be among the more progressive blokes. Yet with all the broadband ISP bankruptcies (in the US) and prices rising and ever-smaller speedcaps and "tiered services" looming, I'm hard-pressed to ever see the day when I can watch a DVD-quality vid streamed from the net.

To get DVD quality streaming video we will need about 10 MB's/sec.
No matter how fast your internet connection is, it still matters how fast the routers and other computers it goes though

In other words:

It will be (I estimate) at least 5 years before we have streaming DVD quality movies
