DVDFab HD Decrypter vs DVD Decryptor

SD DVDs ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter are on average 100 - 300 MB smaller than when ripped with DVDD? Anyone know why?

What is DVDFab HD Decrypter doing that is stripping out more (tiny cells maybe) than DVDD...

This is not a fair comparison to begin with because DVDFab HD Decrypter can strip certain extra copy protection that DVD Decrypter cannot handle.

Wasn't that his point? :) It's a fair comparison because that is, after all, what he's asking. Yea, I'm guessing DVDFab HD Decrypter does a bit more "cleanup" of the left over junk after the protection is removed. R4M, which used DVDD to rip, also had routines to remove extra junk. DVDD is still useful in some cases, especially when used with R4M if you can find it, but, modern DVD protections require a more up to date solution. In any case, your original question is simply a matter of the cleanup being done I would think.

In particular, check out huge VIDEO_TS.VOB files, which usually contain "filler".
