GordianKnot ends up with 4,2 GB File instead of 1,9 GB file

Hi!

My first try with gordian knot.
I followed the guide available on this site step by step .....
I configured a resulting filesize of 1,9 GB (like it's explained in the guide) .....
as a result the tool ends up with a file of size 4,2 GB????

What went wrong??

I assume you used Xvid - it doesn't always work properly with Gordian Knot. Either downgrade to Xvid 1.0.x or use the VfW build of x264.

Weel, if properly configured (the default settings works pretty well too), both Xvid 1.1.3 and the 1.2.127 branch will not oversize very much; if the encode is well prepared (a proper compressibility test is done before, and the result is around 75-85% of the settings) it will not oversize for more than 2-3 MBytes.

It certainly does not account for a more than doubled final size such as in this case ... newuserxyz, could you please
a) tell us which encoder you're using;
b) post some screenshots of the GK settings (the "bitrate" and "resolution" tabs, for instance).
