It looks to me like the Theatertek isn't doing the color conversion correctly. Perhaps this is a Rec. 709 DVD, and it's being displayed as Rec. 610? Theaterteks' flesh tones have too much magenta IMO.

The skewed colors make it difficult to compare, but the SeeSaw'd version has more detail - to my eyes.

How about some source pics with no filtering?

So far, from what I have seen, Seesaw is kicking ass and taking names. It also reduces haloing quite nicely as well.

the theatertek pictures have no filtering, be more pspecific. :)

Oh, I didn't realize that your theatertek pics where filter-free. What with the colors all different and all.

On the last sample, the luma levels are different for the SeeSaw version... :)

compared to post one, or the other pictures in the post your reffering too?

Blue_MiSfit
14th August 2008, 22:55
Compared to the other pictures in the post, the luma levels for the SeeSaw version look darker. Correct actually, the others look washed out (TV levels displayed as PC levels probably).

This only applies to the second image sequence (with 3 actors visible). The blue background series looks uniform..
