Hi everyone, once again i've got another strange problem. This time is with some filtering.

I'm doing a lossless pass from an avi clip with Lagarith with this script

AVISource("F:\Encode\I__________I ep 2.avi", audio=false)

derainbow().derainbow()

fft3dfilter(sigma=1.5, bt=5, bw=32, bh=32, ow=16, oh=16, sharpen=0.4)

LanczosResize(704,400) # Lanczos (Sharp)

limitedsharpenfaster()

The problem is...i'm getting 1fps. Now i know FFT3d is slow but..i'm getting 1fps with an Athlon 64 X2 4800+. After looking around, i see that people with low-end cpus get at least 3-4 fps. So i was wandering if something was wrong with my script or AVS settings. Thanks;)

Try adding the option "ncpu=3" That should help the speed somewhat

Of course your getting 1fps. You have a temporal range of 5 frames, plus wide search windows.

Other people maybe betting 3-4fps, but are they using the exact same settings you are? Of course not.

If you have a decent graphics card, then use FFT3DGPU. It can run in real time, or faster, when run on a recent graphics card.

consider to place fft3dfilter after LanczosResize

should fft3d be used after resize allways?

Also, as far as I remember some DeRainbowers are super slow, so maybe FFT3d isn't the sole reason for the slow speeds...

You can use fft3dfilter wherever you want, but I would always recommend using it before a resize, unless you are worried about speed, as the OP is.

I assume the reason Fizick told the OP to move the fft3dfilter line down below the resize is again because the OP wants speed.
