View Full Version : Muxing Sorenson3 to Matroska

Hi there. There is a video I want to put into a Matroska container to get rid of the damn .mov. I've done this before with success, but this time a weird thing happened.

When I mux it into Matroska using Haali Matroska Muxer in graphstudio or graphedit the video is jumpy in movement scenes. This didn't happen with other Sorenson3 .mov I've already muxed with this graph:

afaik there is no common understanding what the DirectShow mediatype should look like for Sorenson (and some other QT-specific codecs). NeMP4Splitter defines "some" way, but this is probably not correctly understood by the Matroska Muxer...
What NeMP4Splitter does with the mediatype is, it basically gives a raw byte dump from the decoder config found after the sampleentries in the stsd box. Maybe this helps the Matroska Muxer guys....

Interesting, but then why, being Sorenson 3 as well, other files have no problems whatsoever? I've tryed with Haali Media Splitter, MPC MP4 Splitter, Gabest Matroska Muxer, Nero Digital Parser, etc. with no success, the output file has no video or has the jumpy video too. So far the best combination is the above graph. Maybe because the file is @60fps?

OK I've found the correct combination :D

MPC - MP4 Source --> Haali Matroska Muxer. The jumps were caused by Haali Media Splitter used as source.
