Hiya,

Trying to MKV backup "the bank job"
Got elementary AVC and AC3 (or DTS)
When muxed the audio is "slighly" in sync at the beginning but by the middle of the movie theres a massive delay (it gets to over 20 seconds by the end)...

Anyone know what I should do ?

Even when playing the original M2TS via my player theres a sync problem...

Pulling my hair !!

Are you sure your hardware can handle 1080p ES streams?

hi epiphone,

i have another 80 or so perfectly ripped H264 or WVC1 hdDVD or Bluray movies which cause no issues. I've only had this problem with 1 or 2 other titles in the past..

My hardware is quite high end.. with quad cores and 4gigs ram...

The movie plays with no issues though powerdvd...

Its almost as if the movie was not authored at 23.976fps... as the sound is onvious quicker tahn the video.

With hulk I had this issue and someone suggested I reporcess the audio stream through delaycut and add a 1001 delay.. it worked with hulk but not here .. or I simply don't remember how to do it properly with delaycut anymore.

How are you making the MKV? I would suggest:

eac3to 'BD-Rom drive letter' 1) 2: video.mkv 3: audio.dts -core (You'll have to change to your corresponding title-set/track #'s)

Then load video.mkv and audio.dts into MKVmerge. My CMD might be off a little cause I use a GUI but I think it's close. If you do it this way I would suggest doing it straight from disc first and if you still have the problem then re-rip and try from HDD. Either way that CMD should give you a perfectly synched rip.

Thank you for your help with this.

But even demuxing using eac3to (i have the gui as well) and muxing the 2 parts with mkvmerge results in the same thing .. completely off sync video and audio .. and the more it goes on the longer the delay between the two.

Its almost like the video is at 23.976pfs
But the audio is at 25fps or something like that..

Surely something can be done.

Fixed the problem thanks Epiphone.

Seems like what I normally always do was not good enough with this film.

I normally always extract the Elementary streams then mux them with Mkvmerge (making sure to set the right fpss for h264/avs)...

But with this one I had to do as you said and have eac3to extract the video to MKV and not to elem stream ..

That did the trick... seems like Mkvmerge has a bit of a problem seting the right fps on some elementary streams .. or something along those lines.

Thanks again
