Is this supposed to be good video encoder/converter?

A dude over on some forums is trying to convince me this spam link removed is THE ultimate stuff to use and MeGUI is crap. Out of curiosity I downloaded it and was like wtf? It looks like "all inclusive" one click encoder for the masses - far from what it announces it is.
Maybe I fail at using software, but I see no options, no "freedom uf use" (the basic four or so actionsavailable are just horrible), well, it just looks like program for lusers.

Your opinions?

I think he had a part of making that program or something since he spoke so warmly of it :)
I've yet to see an encoder gui with the complexity of meGUI so it's a personal favorite of mine :)

I also bet that it isn't free either ;)

No he just uses it and apparently thinks the more formats it can do the better no matter what.
It ain't free for sure...

Rule 1 of free or cheap universal encoders: they're just frontends for x264 and libavcodec. No exceptions :D
