What tool to remove PlaysForSure?

I have WMP version 11.0.6001.7000 and IBX version 11.0.6000.6324. From what I've been able to find so far, it appears that there's not really a whole lot I can do with that IBX version. Is this still true? Most of the info I've found is several months old so I wasn't sure if it still was.

I just want to be able to put my music from Ruckus on my mp3 player. :'(

From what I've seen, FairUse4WM doesn't support IBX version 11.0.6000.6324. If there was a way to rollback my IBX version I could use it, but I haven't found any way to do that.

This is what I've been trying to do too. You can rollback your IBX version, but, at least in my case, when I reinstall zune and try to download the licenses for my protected files, it puts the IBX back to 11.0.600.6324.

Anyone with any other tips?

Let me rephrase that: I haven't found one for Windows Vista. Is there a way to do it in Vista that my searching didn't find? Or does the way you do it require XP?

Isn't Ruckus a 'subscription' style service for students? In other words, you don't "own" the content... and it isn't even allowed to be burned to CD. If so, this discussion is a clear violation of this forum's rules... please take it elsewhere.

It's not a subscription service if you're a student. It's all free, permanently (ad-supported). Non-students have to subscribe and pay a monthly fee, students do not. Just it has DRM that prevents me from putting it on a CD or my mp3 player.

What you propose to do is apparently in violation of the following "Terms of Service" from the Ruckus homepage at http://www.ruckusnetwork.com/tos.php : ii. Copy or distribute any content from a registered device to any non-registered record or playback device;

iii. You may not attempt (or support others’ attempts) to circumvent, reverse engineer, decrypt, violate, breach, bypass, or otherwise interfere with, or assist in the foregoing action or attempt, of any security components or digital rights management (“DRM”) protection encapsulating, encoding, accompanying, or applied in any way that protects the Content.

BTW - Whether you have to pay for it or not, it is described as a subscription service...

I would be grateful if you could advise how you roll back the IBX if you have the notorious 6324 downgrade. I have been trying to do this for a long time. and nothing I can do seems to work.

The usual way is to delete the DRM folder and individualize your player. The problem is you can't get any version you want from this you have to take it as it comes...

Its a big brick wall and unless you care to crack it your self no one else is going to help...
