View Full Version : How do you identify what container is in use? (if file extension isn't accurate)

I have what I originally thought to be a transport stream file because of the .ts extension, however it contains a Dolby digital track, an AVC track and a wave track. I didn't think ts files worked with anything other than MPEG2, and on top of that I attempted to demux it with a ts demuxer and I don't think it worked. I thought it may be an avi container that someone decided to just rename to .ts so I tried an avi demuxer and it failed to open the file. At this point I've no clue how I could possibly find out what contain is in use. Is there a simple way to figure this out?
Thanks.

-_-
it's a home made 3d animation that's about 15 mins long, with 5.1 channel audio. My friend told me about it and sent me the torrent file.
at any rate, it doesn't matter what it is or where I got it. Even if it was what you're thinking, I never said anything, and so this board, and everyone reading it is clean.
