I'm looking for a video player

which is:
- directshow based (so I can use ffdshow)
- lightweight
and has these two features:
- the ability to change screen resolution while switching to fullscreen mode
- the ability to turn off video stretching while in fullscreen mode

I currently use VLC, MPlayer and sometimes Windows Media Player 6.4. VLC and Mplayer are very good, but I like ffdshow so much...

EDIT: I've just read the Wiki entry on Zoom Player. Seems like this piece of software can do everything I need. Can anyone confirm this?

Crystal Player can change the full screen resolution. If by no stretching you mean keeping a 1:1 pixel ratio with blackness around, I'm not sure it can do that, but maybe the newer version (which I don't use) can.

This player has various deficiencies, but it's still my primary one.

I don't know about ZP. It always looked too messy and clumsy to me.

I've just installed Zoom Player.
- ZP is able to change the resolution, but whenever I switch to fullscreen mode Windows misplaces icons on my desktop :/
- ZP is able to zoom out too 100% scale, but only in windowed mode (just like WMP), when in fullscreen mode you can zoom in and out using mouse wheel - it doesn't really work the way I need it to, it zooms in and out only a little with each "scroll click"

I've just managed to run my video in 640x480 and 1:1 size in Media Player Classic. Thanks :D.

Check the options. ZP has maaany options - you need to dig deep. :)I guess that there is a way to zoom out straight to 100%, but since Media Player Classic already did that for me I'll stay with MPC. I prefer it over ZP because you don't have to install it.

Could be nice also having an option to change to change fullscreen to the native video resolution (if matches an available screen resolution), but even so, MPC is pretty nice. A few more missing options and I may have found a new primary player. :)
