I already have my PC connected to A/V receiver with optical cable. I have 2 large speakers. I was thinking of connecting my PC to TV too. I have SCART-adapter hooked to TV (TV-out) and that adapter includes audio-in. So would it be a good idea? Would i basicly have 4.0 setup then? Or how they would work then?

I think i would not be able to hear AC3 from TV, because AC3 goes through digital out (AC3Filter).

I think it would depend on whats in your TV.

I have an optical output on my digital cable box, when I bump my SB plat down to the Living Room PC I'll be able to feed that straight into the front of the 5 1/4 breakout box.

Why would you want to connect your audio output to the Receiver as well as the TV??????

It would not be 4.0 in this configuration, it would still be 2.0 as your receiver is outputting stereo audio to the main speakers, and your PC will be outputting Stereo audio to the TV, it is a totally redundant setup........

Yeah... TV audio sucks :)

I _love_ it whe people with fancy-schmancy 50" 1080p TVs, BluRay players etc connect to the TV with HDMI and just use the built in speakers..

Yup, I'm using a 10 year-old pair of Boston Acoustic 2.1 computer speakers in my living room, and they sound infinitely better then the speakers in the TV.
