Hi, this freezing also happens to me from time to time with my LG 4166B (IDE, standard Microsoft IDE driver). It's not so frequent, like 1 out of 20 burns, but it happens. Interesting thing is, that on the same system, my Samsung SH-S223Q (SATA, also standard Microsoft IDE driver*) works just fine and didn't freeze on me even once, and I already burned cca 140 discs with it.

As ImgBurn just freaks out if I install nVidia SATA driver - tested like 3 or 4 different versions of SATA driver (older normal and the newer AHCI versions) and it's always a complete disaster - bad burns, different kinds of sense errors etc., interestingly Nero and even cdrecord (quite surprising) work fine even in SATA mode.
