How to use MakeAVIS?

How do I use MakeAViS? I have Vista Codecs installed, which comes with ffdshow installed, but I can't find an option or program named MakeAVIS. Everywhere online I read, it says that MakeAVIS comes with ffdshow? So what gives?

MakeAVIS is simply how ffdshow can automatically use AviSynth filters...

Go to ffdshow video configuration, and then AviSynth.

As a side note, never, never, ever use codec packs. ffdshow-tryouts and the Haali Media Splitter is all you need in 97% of cases, and if not, it's easy to add something small.

makeavis is an avi wrapper to make fake avis like link2.

i believe it's not included in the tryouts,
you have to go to the final official ffdshow alpha.

edit: scratch that,
just tried clsid's latest build, as long as you select the 'avisynth script serving'
component at install, you get makeavis.
