View Full Version : Trouble playing M2TS files in MPC HC

I'm having trouble playing blu-ray m2ts files with Media Player Classic HC.

1. I can play the very first file in a blu-ray disc, but not the others. Split TS files are always individually playable, so I don't understand why this isn't working.

2. When I play the first one, once I try to skip around, the video can stop working at any time - and usually does in the first or second skip.

3. Also when I play the first file, the bottom bar in MPC HC doesn't fully go away - it leaves the time bar displayed even when the rest of the bar dissappears.

I'm using MPC HC 1.1.604.0 on XP. MPC HC is using "WMVideo Decoder DMO" - I don't know if there are any other video decoders that work well, but this is all I can get to play even that first file.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

try disabling the internel h.264/AVC decoder and use an external one like ffdshow, coreavc, cyberlink, whatever.
also try updating mpc-hc.

The internal decoder is already disabled - thus my original post indicating that it was using "WMVideo Decoder DMO".

And update MPC HC to what? The version I indicated is already the latest version.

Then yuor BD has a VC-1 video stream (not h.264/AVC). Ask microsoft then.

Ah. Then I take it there are no alternative decoders for VC-1?

Those are, of course, ancient...

But still - if you've got a problem it's common courtesy to try the latest build (not release) before posting about it, as no-one is interested in reports of bugs that are already fixed...

That version was released a month ago, it's not like we're talking about the original MPC!

I wasn't reporting a bug, I was asking for help. And I don't think it's a violation of common courtesy to not trust a beta.
