There's a much larger thread somewhere in this forum with the exact files that are needed.

What DLL did you try to regsvr32?
There needs to be a couple in the folder.

IIRC, there were two variations of files required.
One said to have the "ASAudioHD+.ax" file included, while the other mentioned nothing about it.

You should try searching through older threads.
Might have to change your search settings to show "any" date, rather than the forum default which has a limit, IIRC.

I did search. Most of this thread and the others I found deal with OS that were before Windows 7 x64.

I've tried the decoder I need which is the DTSDECODER.DLL. I tried regsvr in both the system32 and syswow folders. I've tried copying and pasting all kinds of DLLs. Simply will not regsvr because it gives me the error.

It should still apply to new OS, since no one has returned and said they need a solution for Windows 8/8.1.
eac3to and TMT are all the same on most OS'es (I'm on 7 and I did this to my friend's computer who has 8.1).
The only thing that's different is all the UAC and other security features that may hinder you from doing anything, but so far doesn't sound like the case as it would have been brought up at some point about "restricted access" or some thing in similar fashion.

You're already getting help in the eac3to thread, so no need to really post the same things back and forth.

Follow Music_Fan's link and do as it says.

You only need to reg the .ax file. AND you need all the other files with it. It won't work without the rest of listed files because it's a hack.

Did you copy all the required files (Music_fan's link in eac3to thread) into the same folder as eac3to?

Don't make the same mistake as others and copy exactly as the instructions where it says "path_to_eac3to\ASAudioHD.ax".

You replace "path_to_eac3to" with the actual path.

On my PC, I moved everything (not installed, because none of this installed; it's all portable) to:

C:\eac3to

I gave it it's own folder.

And these files from TMT, I copied into C:\eac3to\...

ASAudioHD.ax
checkactivate.dll
DtsDec.dll
dtsdecoderdll.dll
MagCore.dll
MagPCMac.dll
MagUIEngine.dll
MagUIInter.dll

You need to register "ASAudioHD.ax" only.
The other files are there to make ASAudioHD.ax work.

So....

regsvr32 "C:\eac3to\ASAudioHD.ax"

"C:\eac3to" is on my PC.
I don't know where you put everything on yours, so find it and use that path.

Or move everything to a new directory, like "C:\eac3to" for simplicity.

Frankly, it isn't even necessary to write it in the command prompt. You can navigate to the file and right click then choose to "open" it with the regsvr command.

But either way, it doesn't work.

Right-clicking to register isn't a Windows default option. It has to be enabled manually. But, that's besides the point, whether or not you use CMD or context menu doesn't have any effect on whether or not it works.

Do you have TMT installed? I think I read you have TMT installed.
Keep the required files in the eac3to folder and uninstall TMT completely.

Perhaps you're using the wrong version.
The dtsdecoderdll.dll that's most used is v1.1.0.0 (dated ‎April-‎25 2008, not April-21 2008).

You have never mentioned which version you are using (be it TMT or the dtsdecoderdll.dll).
Or if you are, in fact registering the .ax file.

Don't really know how else to help you troubleshoot on generic statements.
