Hello
I have two AVI files which are 700mb and 699mb in size that I would like to join together. I have never done this before and as such I don't know where to begin so I would very much appreciate some advice.
As an experiment I tried to use StaxRip but got the following error message.
Can not append segment
The audeo streams have different sampling rates (14285.00000 vs. 41.66667)
Cheers

I'm assuming these are two separate sections of a movie? Why did you rip the movie into two separate sections in the first place if you apparently wanted it in one file? Why are the audio sampling rates different? Did your rip half the movie one day, forget your settings and rip the other half another day possibly?
Why not just re-rip into one file from the disc? Then you don't have to download any additional programs!

You are correct, these are two parts of a movie however I did not rip them.

You could use virtual dub mod open the first file then click append segment then select direct stream copy for both the audio and video

and you've proved my point. not good man...I genuinely do enjoy helping members of this site; seasoned or brand new...Unfortunately you need to go and read the rules - especially #'s 1, 1a and 6.

Hello again. I've read the rules and I'm still confused especially by the search feature which I have always had trouble with and that is the reason for my enquiry on how to join two AVI files.
The movie in question is a home wedding done by a mate, who like myself is an amiture in these departments and buggered things up including deleting the original files. Such is life.
Hopefully me and my mate can muddle through, or wait till the next wedding.

Hi!
1) Please load each of the .AVIs into GSpot and post screen captures back here.
2) How did your mate manage to shoot with two such different audio sampling rates? (Actually, I tend to think the rates you stated are VIDEO)
3) What software and procedures did you use to create the two CD-sized .AVIs?
4) Do each of the .AVIs playback properly?
