I bought AoE 3, i.e. with a legal key, and it worked. I then used Alcohol 120 to make an image and mounted it. Didn't work. Removed image & virtual drive. The original CD has NOT worked ever since. Tried hard, uninstalled, reinstalled, changed folder, etc. Even bought another one, with another key, no way. All that starts is a small picture with the logo, which goes away after some seconds. What do I do?

Its probably one of those nasty copy protection schemes that prevents you from running the game if you have Alcohol/similar installed--such an absurd thing that it basically serves as a signal to all users that they should just pirate the game instead.

I removed Alcohol (the programme, I mean), did system restore, nothing.
