Free program that converts JPEG to various other image compression formats (PNG)

Hello All,

Sorry, i know this isn't really video related, but nonetheless I hope someone can assist.

I'm just looking for a freeware image converting program. Something that would, for example, convert a JPEG to a PNG.

Searching for a program like this is one of those things that makes me hate the beloved Google- so many nonsense results :P

Anyway any guidance would be appreciated.

A couple of others are "Gimp" and "Irfanview"...

Thanks all. got it working fine just using "save as" in paint! not the prettiest/most stream-lined solution but it works for now.

Sometimes the simplest solution is "right there under your nose"!

simple solutions are fantastic. i'm definitely a fan of GIMP though - especially if you're looking to do a bit more than just convert at some point down the road

GIMP is terrific but is a very steep learning curve.

Try Paint.NET, easy to use, multilanguage, free/open source, very powerfull: http://www.getpaint.net/index.html
