Is there any way that this can be added so that the useful DVD-RB End Est (now with a graph) will give you a good idea ho wlong the process will take for encoding

Or some way to call the software once you start a project

Mind you since upgrading to that Q6600 clocked at 3.2ghz and HC Encoder on all 4 cores running at 100% I have been wondering if a project did actually complete correctly as its so fast and have actually checked the ISO before burning it a couple of times

Finishes too fast, eh. That's a tough problem to have... :) It's amazing what a couple of years of technology can do. On most newer systems DVD-RB can not do a high-quality encode in about the same time as it transcoders used to take.

My Quad-Core Phenom finishes a complete PREPARE, ENCODE, REBUILD, and DISC BURN in a about an hour.

I'll see if I can find some space on the interface to do an "estimated time to complete" after each segment. The problem, typically, with those types of metrics are that they are only as accurate as the ones you've already done. So if the upcoming segments have something that might increase time (e.g. ILVU) it wouldn't be taken into consideration.

Just on the GUI. On the standard one (which I like to use), you have to scroll horizontally all the time (status log). I know this is a little point, but can it be made expandable please? Or wider?

Well, from experience I can tell that the estimated end time for my tool converges pretty "fast" as you can see if you use the graph version. It shows every guess as a bar.

And the approach it uses is simply the rule of three (i hope leo.org translated it the right way).
It can be a little off under some circumstances but it's better than nothing ;)

Of course using that logic I could say "then use the bar"... if it shows you are half way through -- you can assume it will take the same amount of time to finish.

But then you'll have to calculate yourself.

It's like a download with a browser, there the remaining time gets calculated for you, too. You could say there, too: "Look at the bar, it's at 17% and you started the download 7:47pm, now it's 8:19pm, do the math for yourself."

How would it estimate if you're doing bitrate redistribution and there are segements that require no encoding?
