In the newest version of Smart Ripper (2.41) (never used
anything but, so don't know if this applies to old versions),
I already get a D2V file when I rip the DVD. Also, if I
enable stream processing, I can rip out the AC3 files as
well. My question is can I use those files as created by
Smart Ripper instead of creating them using DVD2AVI?

Thanks everyone!

I vaguely remember an earlier post of someone who found inconsistancies between the two .d2v files. I always use the DVD2AVI file, so I don't know what effect it would have if you use the other one.

Yah, I tried it for kicks using GKnot, and
got an error when I tried to open the .D2V
file, saying "this isn't a dvd2avi project
file".... also, it says on the GKnot GUI that
using D2V files from SmartRipper may result
in synch issues....

But it'd be interesting to hear if anyone
has gone the non-GKnot route with SmartRipper
files and had success...??
