Audio packaging

Does anyone know if there's a way to package audio files(grouping per album or else) like it's done with comic books in CBR/CBZ files?

I've seen something called albumwrap but it looked like a big hassle to me.

Albumwrap isn't too bad if it's all from a single rip, so all the files are the same settings, but it shows up to media players as one file that you can seek all the way through, not a playlist.

Otherwise, you might look at mka (audio mkv), but it might not function terribly reliably.

Why is it not reliable? Can you substantiate your statement?

I'd say the reliability issues come from ordered chapters, the only way to get playlist-like features out of a single mka/mkv files, for which documentation is sparse and playback capability almost nonexistent among all of the major media players. I should have been specific in my post.
