I encoded Army of Darkness(which has alot of noise in it) and used XMPEG do do it with. i followed eveything it said in the guide and let my computer encode it overnight. then today when i went to go and play it, it turned out ok everything seemed fine except for the fact that the playback was choppy enough to be anoyying, so i tried lowering the setting on the playback filter and still the choppieness was there. it wasn't a constant choppieness in the framrate thingy it said it was displaying more fps than the movie was.

I encoded it at a resolution of 640x384 at 23.976 fps 1050kbps divx4 2-pass video and 160kbps divx audio 48000khz

is there anything i can do to fix this without having to rencode it???

update!

Okay i managed to find out the problem. it has to do with the mp3 codec i was using because when i checked the audio plugin tab thing for mediaplayer6.4 it says i was using wma audio but i rememberd i used mp3 audio so then i downloaded the powerdivx player and it fixed it. how can i erase all the mp3 codecs and reinstall them ??

Yeah, thats it. don't use WMA. Either get the LAME dll or the Radium pack. By the way, its not necessary at all to encode MP3 audio over 128 kb/sec. some people who don't know what they are talking about insist that its better if you go over. This is not true, because after a certain point, the 48000 HZ will sample it down. So your wasting time if you go over 128. You could go safely to 96 and still not notice a difference because the sampling rate will take over.
