Trim both in VFAPI

HI!

Im encoding "Tigerland" i VFAPI and i want to encode the endcredits with a firstpass only.
I have a project of the whole movie so how to encode 2pass for the movie and 1 pass for the endcredits?

not sure what you are saying because your english doesn't quite make sense :(

But...maybe I can help.

End credits can be encoded at low quality becuase they don;t have much information (of course). During the second pass when you set the frame to start encoding the credits at your set bitrate, it doesn't matter what pass you are on, it will always encode the credits at CBR at the bitrate you set.

Again I'm not sure what your consern is. But if you watch your predicted file size right when it starts encoding the credits you will notice its too high. But as it encodes the credits the predicted file size will slowly come down to what you wanted, proving that it maximizes file size.

You know how GKnot and the "trim both" function work?
GKnot encode the movie(only) with 2 pass and then encode the endcredits(only) with a singel pass and with a higher DRF to get a smaller filesize and the append the two parts.
How to do this in VFAPI because i want to use the smartsmoother for this movie and GKNot cant handle this filter.

Hi Ripe73-
You can use the Nandub filters together with an .avs from GKnot. If you set it to Full Processing instead of Fast Recompress, then you can use Smart Smoother. It should even be faster than the VFAPI method. I think you'll have to do the 2 passes separately, though, and you'll be doing the end credits twice, I think. Big Deal.

I'm not sure that answers the question, because my suggestion is too easy for you not to have figured out. That Tigerland is a bitch isn't it? Grainiest movie I've ever seen. I hope you're doing it for 2 CDs.
And you know how slow Smart Smoother is, right? 2D Cleaner is much faster, and does the same thing.

Tigerland was like SPR to rip(a really bitch) so i did it on two cd's 576*xxx with AC3 the movie is only around 1h.30min.But the movie came out fine with the highbitrate and i used a TempSmootherfilter only.
About the smartsmoother(or 2D cleaner) how to write the *.avs?
