file\avs aren't opeoing in megui\graphedit but do in ripbot264, virtualdub, mpc

Hi, I have an issue all of a sudden where ripbot264, virtualdub and mpc can handle directshowsourced avc vc1 m2ts and xvid, and huffyuv avi files, as well as these files directly.

graphedit immediately closes when all of these are dragged into the window. But I can manually create graphs for avc and vc1 which can be directshowsourced and work in megui.
xvid and huffyuv I can't come up with a manual graph that doesn't close graphedit (haali\file source -> ffdshow\xvid).

megui will open directshowsourced avc m2ts but immediately closes when vc1 m2ts, xvid, huffyuv are directshowsourced.

megui closes immediately when vc1.m2ts is opened directly

megui opens avc, xvid, huffyuv and shows the preview window, but when enqueue is pressed it says it cant open the file. Error message for your reference unexpected character (
"Õ" for xvid, "@' for avc) line 1, column (4 for xvid, 5 for avc).
huffyuv freezes the computer for a couple of minutes then megui stops responding.

its an X2 3800+ with vista premium 32bit with only these decoders\demuxers installed:

powerdvd8 (not used in this situation)
wmp11

It was working great for months with the same setup, a few weeks ago it just stopped working and nothing has changed on the computer as far as new programs, but there was some windows updates.

I have tried removing all except wmp11, reboot, install them all again with no success and I'd hate to reformat... Does anyone have any ideas?

DirectShowSource has logging support, read the DirectShowSource docs, create a log file, upload the log file using a hosting service.

I removed\installed both ffdshow (huffyuv) and xvid, set the huffyuv vfw again and those are working ok now. Still have the graphedit crashing on everything, manual works. Also loading in from vc1.m2ts heres the logfile it produced.

I also removed, installed avisynth 2.5.7 with the same results.
I've isolated the vc1 loading problem to wmp11 decoder, ffdshow decoding will load from the m2ts.
But it still makes me wonder why wmp11 m2ts works fine with the vdub and ripbot264 but not megui.
