Hi everyone!

Ive been trying to test On2 flix software, ive registered and downloaded both standart/pro trial versions but whatever i do it doesnt start.

When i click to start the program the splash screen appears and it just stays like that, freezes, i thought about posting a question on the on2 forums but theres a couple of them there with the same problem and on2 staff doesnt answer them.

While googling i found references to the need of having quicktime player installed, i have the quicktime alternative version, could that be the problem? I really didnt want to install it in order to test the on2 software.

this problem has persisted for the last 2 years, never been able to test it. ive formated my pc many times these last 2 years but nothing worked.

Thanks

Installing quicktime doesnt solve the problem, ive tried the same thing on 2 other pcs from friends and same thing happens, freezes at splash screen stage

Have you tried contacting the company?

EDIT:
What Windows version do you have and what platform 32/64bit?

Hi Jeffy, i thought about that but on their Forum On2 doesnt say anything on similar posts, completely ignores those posts, i searched the forum before posting, so i thought why not try doom9 on the flv section? perhaps someone experienced the same thing

Using Windows XP pro sp3 (Portuguese version), 32 bit, 80gb, 1gb ram, but i also tested when i only had sp2.

Me: Windows XP Professional SP2, 32bit, 320GB system drive, 2GB RAM
Tried installing this version a little moment ago: On2 Flix Standard 8.005

Did not install any newer version or update. Works okay. This version places a green X all over the video and Flix demo looping sound in the encoded audio.

I think you should take jeffy's advice and contact them directly. On2 does not have a forum that I am aware of. There is a forum called Flix Forums but it is a public forum not run by On2. Occasionally an On2 employee will answer questions there but not very often.
