I encode DvDrip to Mp4 my movies...
700mb to 350mb same as...
I don't decide good compression settings..
For Example; my settings but too slowly
cabac=1 / ref=3 / deblock=1:-2:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=hex / subme=7 / brdo=1 / mixed_ref=0 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / chroma_qp_offset=0 / threads=1 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / mbaff=0 / bframes=15 / b_pyramid=1 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / wpredb=1 / bime=1 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40 / rc=abr / bitrate=500 / ratetol=1.0 / rceq='blurCplx^(1-qComp)' / qcomp=1.00 / qpmin=10 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / pb_ratio=1.30 / aq=2:1.00
you suggest that more fast and same quality settings...

12: Dont ask what's best....
There is NO best. Also if you want speed you WILL loose quality.
Faster settings without loosing too much quality:
subme=6
trellis=1
merange=12
if you still want more speed (and more quality loss):
brdo=0
bime=0
merange=8
also i suggest you to use either 2-pass encoding or CRF.
ABR absolutely sux.

Especially when you are referring to a speed quality trade off. Ultimately you are just going to have to play around with settings and see what gives you the results you want. Here are somethings I've noticed though.
Try backing down from a subme 7 to subme6. I usually don't notice much quality drop from there. And change trellis to 1 instead of 2. set threads = auto. If you have a multicore processor then this will really help.

ok, but please change the thread title and first post content by editing the first post and its title (in advanced mode) so to comply with the forum rules.

If you're going to back trellis off to 1, then you should either disable it entirely or disable PsyRDO. (preferably kill trellis)

~MiSfitAnd, best yet, update to latest psy RDO, which will warn you on runtime if you use it in combination with trellis ;)

Rule 6: We don't help with pirated material. If you downloaded the "Dvdrip", look elsewhere.
