I got an error with Planet of the Apes (2001) that involved the ac3 sound. I found this error on the diagnostic screen. It had to frame points and said another frame was expected and deleted the unexpected frame. Then with Scary Movie 2 I got a error in the vlc. What is the vlc? It said it had a buffer for on frame and would delete it. My disc are in mint condition and not scratched so why did this happen? Do they have some new form of security on them? Thanks for any help that you can give.

Fair Use seems to have a problem ripping certain titles. Search isn't working on the forum (or I would point out a thread) but this has been discussed in the past. Just look for forum threads that talk about AC3 tracks growing out of control.

You should try ripping these with another app like smartripper.

It didn't go out of control though. I could still mux it into the final video and it was in synch to the best that I could tell. I was just wondering if others had problems with these two titles or if it was just me. I didn't get a crazy file size for the AC3 or anything. It worked fine. Also I don't know what the vlc error meant with Scary Movie 2. Any help would be helpful.

These are errors in the MPEG2 stream. This problem tends to happen a lot with pirate "DVD silvers", because they are mastered poorly, but sometimes these errors occur in mainstream DVDs. FairUse has just skipped the corrupt frame(s) and duplicated previous frames to ensure propper sync, just like a DVD player would.

I got the same error with American Pie 2 Unrated Widescreen, but are you saying that everything will come out fine in the final product? If I watch it closely will there be repeated frames? Is there something wrong with my DVD's or is the DVD just built that way? Thanks.

i got the same ac3 singeerror line when i tried to encode "planet of the apes" (region 1)

however i just ignored the erroer warning and it worked out just fine
