Gspot and MPC says ac3 but AC3filter thinks 2 ch PCM

I've been searching threads, but I have to admit I'm not sure what key words to search by.
I have a file that Gspot reports as being 6 channel AC3, and in the file->properties section of Media Player Classic, it reports the file as AC3, but AC3 filter is reporting the input to it as 2 channel PCM.
VLC player also won't send ac3 out to my receiver, only pcm, and my receiver keeps trying to switch back and forth between 44.1kHz and 48 kHz.
I'm not really sure where to look for this problem because I'm not sure what search terms to use. If anybody has any suggestions, I'll keep looking.
Below is the AC3 filter report, and the 2 lines taken from what gspot says, in case it's helpful. You'll see that ac3 filter is able to post-process to 6 channel, but I'd rather it pass through to my receiver (actually I'd rather understand what the problem is to fix it properly :rolleyes:)

Why don't you upload a trial file which is max. 50-60 MB lenght?

Thanks for the responses, and sorry for the response delay.
I've been messing around still, and had success getting Mplayer classic to send the ac3 through as 5.1, embarrasingly, it was only the software switch in MPC to select 3/2 and LFE instead of 2.0 stereo output. VLC player still can't send the audio out, but at the moment, I don't mind.
