DivX playback problems

i have a small but ennoying problem when playing back divX with ANY player. The Playa for example doesn't play vbr-mpr DivX-movies synchroneous at all. when playing in media player or microDVD the movie is sometimes played faster for a a second. the sound stops for this time. but at least it keeps synchroneous... ;-(
my hardware can't be the problem. (dual pIII 933, 896mb, geforce2 ultra)

this is a general problem of these kind of files.. avery lee discussed that over at his site (www.virtualdub.org -> news).. when the bitrate change is too rapid the filters can't keep up giving the effect you described.. there's nothing you can do about it (except re-encoding the audio track to cbr mp3 which means a loss of quality of course and a bit of work)
