Greetings!
I have been lurking for a very long while is time to post :)

I'm looking for a tool/way to easily and fast join together many .avi .wmv files, all of them are the same framerate/size and use the same codec.

Basically i know i can do it with virtualdub but it takes way to long to manually append them(yes, there are many parts) and i dont want to waste hours reencoding them which is all the tools i found do.

I'd appreciate if anyone can suggest a simple program/gui that will allow me to drag/drop files and easily append them!

Thank you!

No need to recompress in vdub, just select "direct stream copy" in the Video menu.

Another program I've used to accomplish this was AVIUtil.

@acantoni

Hi!

Just to be sure, would you please post screen captures of of two of these files as opened in GSpot?

Hello!

@setarip
I'm leaving out for work so i'll post the info requested in gspot when i come back :)

@wildcet
Indeed direct stream copy does work and it was what i tried to saying (not being very clear i confess) when i talked about manually append them.
In virtual dub the 'direct stream copy' works fine, however considering a file may be split in 50 pieces it takes too long to select each piece individually and append them :P thats why i asked for an utility with drag&drop, i'll try this AVIutil when i come back from work if it has directstreamcopy it will work perfectly!

Again thx to both of you!

join together many .avi .wmv filesconsidering a file may be split in 50 piecesYour first post made it sound as if you were referring to many independent/unrelated videos.

You are now stating that you're actually dealing with one video that has been split into as many as 50 pieces.

This now leads to some obvious questions:

1) Why would you have bothered to split your original video into 50 pieces?

2) Why would you need to rejoin the 50 pieces when you have your original video?

Avidemux has drag-and-drop support for appending multiple files.
