PowerDVD 8 & FFDshow

I have my HTPC connected to my TV (no receiver involved). When using WMP and FFDshow I can play DTS audio files through my TV, however, when using PowerDVD 8 I can't. I'm assuming this is because PowerDVD 8 is lacking some sort of encoder to do this...so my questions is this:

Can I have FFDshow work with PowerDVD 8 and if so how...or is there a setting in PowerDVD 8 that will give it the functionality I need???
