How do you sync and merge subtitles to mp4?

Hello,

I just transcoded a DVD to an MP4 file using HandBrake.
All is ok but I would like to merge another subtiltle file (srt) to the MP4.
Is it possible?
Is there a tool that can do that with a possibility to manually sync the subs with the picture/voices? I mean something like a viewer that plays the movie and a slider that syncs the subtitles on the spot providing the exact value of delay to add or retrieve whilst merging it to the movie file?

If you use VLC as a player and if the .srt file has the same name as the video file, then VLC will automatically find the subtitle and sync it. Or, to embedd, use this: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/mp4box
