I am currently testing the VC1 capabilities. My goal with to use a .wmv file within media center. However, I get audio/video not in sync.

This is my process.
1. Demux bluray (AVC this case)
2. DGAVCDec -> avs script
3. MainConcept Reference 1.1.1 > VC1 (stream type: ASF) this creates a .wmv file which it plays fine in Windows Media Player.
4. AC3 > WMA w/ TMPGEnc 4.0
HINT: if I mux w/ Windows Media Stream Editor I get a file that gets errors decoding

5. Use Solveig ASF muxer to output a new .wmv this one is muxed with the .wma.

Result: video is not in sync with audio.

WHY?
Approach #1: I also tried ASFTools 3.1 to fix the errors, file size of the video gets cuts off about 15% the original size. Now video is in sync but has the errors (even before Windows Stream Editor).

Approach #2: I also tried:
ASFTools > Solveig > Windows Stream Editor. Video is in sync but it still has errors when playing but not as frequent.

Why don't you create the entire WMV+WMA+ASF in Reference?
This maybe a problem of 3:2 pulldown, try VC-1 encoder settings->Miscellaneous->General->Film Mode Framerate Conversion->2:3 Pulldown

You need no Pulldown fro Bluray Video. Bluray use plane 23.976 fps :)

Set the framerate to 23.976fps
The default VC1 pro Bluray Profile is 29.97fps! Change it to 23.976 fps otherwise its async to your Audio which runs at 23.976.

Now your Audio should be sync cause its based on 23.976 Video from Bluray

For HDDVD use eac3to to demux/remux the Video and use "strip Pulldown. Now its again 23.976fps as for your Audio to.
