View Full Version : Adding images at the beginning of the movie
Anyone know how can I add images(jpg) at the beginning of the movie (avi) by using virtualdub or avidemux?
Actually, the images are the same, it's some text in the image to show who produce the video. It last for 3 secs only. I tried it in both virtualdub and avidemux, but failed.
I see a lot of people doing this on their youtube video, anyone know how to do that? Thanks a lot.

YouTube videos are edited with some software other than VirtualDubMod, such as Windows Movie Maker. You can, however, render 3 seconds of video from a still .jpg image using the exact same settings used to create the .avi file and append the video to the end of that.

I did this once and kept getting errors the only way I found to fix it was to makesure its the same reso exactly and same codec. Quality didnt matter.

In Avidemux you can open PNG images, just like a video. Then you can append your movie and that's it :)
But take care: Make sure the size of your PNG's is equal to the video size!
Thanks a lot. I tried that. But the movie becomes no sound.

Create an audio of the same length as the still and the same format of the movie and mux that in with the still image.

Thanks a lot. I tried that. But the movie becomes no sound.
Do you mean the is no sound when you play the resulting output file or do mean there is no sound in Avidemux?
In the latter case try changing the "Audio output" setting from "None" to "Win32" :p
Thanks. I mean there is no sound for the output file. Since I created 90 images file and avidemux open them all, so they got no sound. Then I append my avi file at the last frame (or last image), then I encode them again. I play the resulting file but there is no sound.
I think this is because the beginning of the movie are those image files, so they got no sound, even if I append a avi with sound, avidemux think that this file shouldn't got any sound since there is no sound at the beginning.
I also add some sound to the image files --> save it as avi --> append my movie avi file. This time, I got sound at the beginning, but when it comes to movie part, the sound become very strange, like the sound speed down a lot.

I think the sound will begin at the frame where the appended AVI starts, not at picture sequence at the beginning of your file.
Try to use a negative audio delay (shift) in order to make the audio start earlier (a shift of -1000 ms makes the audio start 1 second earlier).

The audio formats must match exactly for this to work.
